Take the credit for getting the critique out first! I love the piece, which is why I forwarded it, but your posts on the subject show better how we're drowning in the phenomenon, even though we've all learned to value the "small moments" and "randomness" of life. I mean, face it, blogs are all about that stuff. More interesting to critique it from within. The Atlantic piece tries to be above the quirk.

In other thoughts, is it a good time to admit that I own the Miranda July movie dvd? Too soon?

I own it too kiita! HT manages to overlook it and so our friendship continues.

  • If Ayn Rand and Walter Benjamin got in a cage fight and then made up over foie gras, single malt scotch and indie pop, you'd have the delightful adventures of "That Was Probably Awkward." Plus or minus the single malt and foie gras, depending on the week's finances. But always the indie pop. Sad, stirring indie pop. And a decent happy hour.
