For the past couple of weeks I've been having an incredibly strong hankering for some Momofuku -- any ramen, really. RB and I keep making tentative plans to try one of the myriad ramen places over in the east village, but the plans keep getting postponed. It's sad: sometimes all a girl wants is a big bowl of noodles in a porky, salty broth, and yet .... nothing. One of these days we're going to keep to our plans, dammit -- at which point you'll get a slobbery, food coma-esque post about how I passed out from inhaling the entire bowl in one go.
What has made me less inclined to consume said bowl of ramen, however, was coming across this photograph this morning:
That's for reals, my friends: soft serve cones floating atop a bowl of ramen. Apparently there's a place in Japan that serves this concoction, as well as other oddball combinations: hot cocoa ramen and natto ramen, among many others. Er, yeah. You can read about it a bit more here.
In any event, I'm not wanting Momofuku so much right now. I'm hoping this feeling will pass shortly. My brain is having a hard time processing that image and making it intelligible, much less palatable. God help us.
